Absolutely gorgeous weather yet again today. Very un-August-like weather, perfectly clear skies, 78% humidity and 62 degrees. Nice little breeze too. A good solid run today, negative splits with the exception of the first mile. The last mile was way faster than I thought... I was just trying to pick up the pace to around a 7:30 mile but I felt great and didn't really have to work for that 6:48. I still had a lot left in me today, I could've gone 8 or 9 easily.

28.13 miles on the bike 1:40:39
Average rate 16.77 mph
Had the wind with me on the way out and had a hard ride back. Right when I started going back into the wind, two guys passed me and I tried to keep up. The old guy in front was just killing it straight into the wind. I held on for about a mile and a half before getting dropped. I paid the price struggling to stay with them as I used up a lot of energy.

Long run today, 21 miles in 3.50.44.
A hilly course, a little too hilly in my opinion. (I feel like Goldilocks and the 3 long runs: That one had too much car traffic. This was has too many hills...) But a respectable time for 21 miles and a bunch of hills.
I feel fine. Nothing hurts. The muscles around my knees were very stiff when I stopped running, but I had another 1/2 mile to walk back to my vehicle, and that loosened them up. An ice bath later, and everything feels pretty good. No weird sharp pains, no hamstring pain.
Splits:
12.02 10.28 10.41 10.24 11.34 10.30 10.42 10.27 10.44 14.57 this was a 5.5 mile out and back to my vehicle, and I then began the second route, which was a loop "around the block" back to my vehicle. I did stop at my SUV for my sunglasses and fuel belt, but didn't think I stopped that long!
12.05 this is the mile hill 11.40 11.21 11.05 11.22 10.06 (I must have hit a good downhill portion here!) 11.26 10.44 10.51 10.23 9.48 I felt good and I wanted the run to be over. I had a kick left.
I hydrated and took in 4 gels about every 4 or 5 miles. The weather really helped. It was 51 F when I started, I actually worn gloves for the first mile it was that chilly. Post race temp was only 65 F.

4 sets of doubles tennis first thing this morning. Then one hour of upper body weight training. Then 3 more sets of doubles tennis late afternoon. I spent a good 5 plus hours on the courts today. Whew! Weather is incredible right now.

7.4 miles...and for me that's a long run and only the third time i've hit this distance.
1:18:05
This one hurt a bit more than the previous two times, but it was 40 seconds faster than the first time.
