13.1 miles so far. (not a race)
May try for some weights and a quick ride on the trainer later.

5.547 miles in :50:30.11. Mile splits 8:27, 8:53, 9:19, 9:06, and 8:56. Only 40 at the start, but once the sun came out, weather was very nice for a run.

Have I mentioned that I love long runs? I feel better on the last 2 miles of a long run than I do on the last 2 of a 6 miler. An absolutely great run. It was kind of brisk, 54 degrees and overcast. I did 3 5mile routes, and the 4th, 7th, and 14th mile are identical (though the 7th was run backwards). This mile always gets me - on this run it was responsible for the two slowest miles and the lone 8+ in the last 6. One of my longest runs ever - I think my distance PR is 15.2 miles, which I'll hurdle next week. My long runs are getting better and better every week in every respect: distance, pace, and overall feeling. Big confidence booster.

12.4 mile long run, 1:32:29. Broke the Riff Raff Challenge goal of 2004 miles for the year (~2011 miles to date)
Keep up with the long runs med...in no time you will be comfortably running 2 hour+ LSDs.

This one was supposed to be 2 hours+ but I ran too fast at the end.

4 miles out of what was supposed to be 5 miles. I wussed out. Who knew so many people would be out at noon on Saturday. There were entirely too many people parked on the shoulder, a mail person who could not drive his route faster than I could run it. I finally had to cross the street to get away from him. Semi's to dodge and nasty, nasty NASTY road kill.

A little more than 7.5 miles on trails here, which is less than 5 miles from my house.
My intent was to run 3-4, but I got lost
This was my first foray into this park, I am very psyched (now all I need is a map).

Geez Mech runs 15 miles in under 2 hours and I can only run
13 miles in 2 hours 7 minutes. Oh well, he's much younger than I.
I guess I would count this one as a "good run." It was cold, about 40 degrees out. I wore the running tights and 3 layers on top. I alternated between behind hot and cold depending on when the wind hit me.
I was running well for the first 6 miles or so, about a 9.30 minute mile. then a bathroom break kind of disrupted the running process, and the sore hamstring woke up the rest of the run.
I even had trouble running faster the last mile, I usually have a good kick for the last mile, I really was out of steam on this one.
I'm running a 1/2 marathon next Sunday, my goal is to be break 2 hours, and hopefully my old PB of 1.58 something. Hopefully the race day atmosphere and fellow runners to pace off will help with this.

Saturday I came to the conclusion that I'm not overtraining early in the days that causing me to feel like junk the rest of the day, it's lack of caffiene. I've looked back over my training log and the days I feel the worst are the days that I don't get my regular amount of coffee. Sad.
