Very nice morning in Chicago!
I ran the Malaika 5K in Oakbrook this morning and what a beautiful course. I haven't run really hard since the Chicago Marathon so I decided to go hard today.
The race was run on ALL trails along the Salt Creek, very scenic. I went out a little to fast, as I was anxious to go all out. Shouldn't have done that. The 2nd mile was 1 minute slower but that gave me something to finish up with. I ran the 3rd mile very hard and finished up with a 23:01 on my watch, not too bad for an old guy.

17 miles in 2:46.14 (ave 9.47) on the TM today. I decided to run on the TM today due to the headaches I had been experiencing all week. They have been terrible and I didn't want to get stuck on the road somewhere if I had to stop running.
Well...I got the job done. I don't know which is worse, running on the TM or running with a massive headache? Not sure. It was a challenge.
I'm going to try to get in to my doctor Monday. I have a feeling that my BP meds need to be changed, because it's up again.
This ended my 9th week of training. I'm half way there.
Oh and...this damn near killed me. Really.
