No training today, just doing yard work and probably repairing shingles on my roof.

I am taking another day off!
Please tell me that 4 days off is not going to kill my training.
I have a fever and I am dizzy standing up.
I have not taken more than 2 days off in 1.5 years.
This is awful!

8 miles 1:07:33
7:39
16:43 (miles 2&3)
17:15 (miles 4&5)
8:51
17:05 (miles 7&8)
Average pace 8:27
I don't know why the first mile was so fast, it felt very slow. On the whole a good run... I wanted more but it was way too hot for that. I slept too late and I figure 8 in 88 degree weather is the same effort as 10 in 70 degree weather. Or more effort. Oh well, maybe next week I'll have the discipline to get up early.

Hi everyone,
First post in here!
42:30, in the hills, with a head wind going uphill
But the sky was clear and I had a nice view of the cliffs of Dover

I've been off-kilter and off most running since Aug 21 with a foot injury. Xrays and MRI later, I still don't know what caused it. But the dr said I could start running after the Labor Day Weekend and Coach said I could still attempt the marathon. So this week I have just been running 2 and 3 miles and seeing how the foot felt. With the foot feeling fine and the cool temperatures, I decided to try my last 20 miler before I start the taper for the marathon October 2.
I ran 20 miles in 3 hours 38 minutes, average pace about 10.55. Not the greatest run in, but more importantly no foot pain. I just wanted to get that last 20 miler in--the last one previous to this was about 4 weeks back, and I needed to get the confidence back that I could complete a marathon.
Well, I'm feeling great, I'm icing the foot just as a precaution (I'm icing it after every run now) and now the taper begins!
