18 miles in 3 hours 8 minutes, average 10.29 mile. Pretty good run, except for my hamstring started hurting at mile 2 and was that way for the rest of the run. Oh well, it gave me something to think about.

15 miles, 2:21:39.
My hamstrings started "singing" after mile 13 or so. Gotta work that out. I'm also taking this opportunity to test out all kind of stuff I normally have no use for (hat, sunglasses, vaseline, gatorade, etc.)

I was gonna do 20s up untill two weeks before the race. | I have a 10k next Sunday so there's no long run, which leaves me with 3 weeks to taper. I'm planning to do my last marathon-pace (MP) workout (16-17 with 10-12 at goal race pace) 2 weeks out....therefore no 20s are possible...
I missed my 2nd MP due to an injury about 2 weeks ago...it took me about 2 weeks of reduced mileage and no tempo/speedwork to recover....so that actually leaves me with an extra long taper..
What marathon are you doing again?

I'm doing the NYC marathon on Nov 6th. It's my second. The last time, in 2001, I tapered WAY to soon, and I only got up to 18 miles on my long runs. Trying to avoid that this time. I'm not being scientific about it - as long as I'm reasonably close to race pace I'll be ok. My training is way hillier than the course, it's still more hot and humid than it will be then, and I'll get that little boost feeding off the energy of the race

1 mile with the dog around 6:30. He's been sleeping ever since and only woke up when I got him a milkbone.
