Posted: 04/05/04 - 15:06 Post subject: Sandy's audition thoughts
I spoke with Sandy and she said the audition went very well. There were about 40-50 people there and she recognized some of the people (she named off some names) who are in Cats, so she was a little scared by that because she knows how good they are. Then she said she saw the woman who played Vinne Black's wife in Tony N Tina's Wedding. While she was a favorite of ours and always talked to us at the show...she apparently wasn't that good, at least compared to some of the others, but she (the woman) tried very hard. She's always been nice, so i feel a little bad about that.
Sandy sang "White boys", and missed a line, but the piano player was rather good so he caught up with her and they moved on without even missing a beat. She had to dance, and that went well, too.
The one thing i wanted for Sandy was that she would be happy with her audition and satisfied with it no matter if she gets the part or not. We don't know if she got the part, but Sandy is very happy with how it went and is very satisfied and she said that she won't mind if she doesn't get the part, but that she is just happy she tried and that it went as well as it did.
Thanks all for sending the good vibes.

the important thing is that she gave it her all and did her best. there are so many other variables in the audition process. I've had to sit through many auditions, and I recall having to cast "The Sound of Music" ; it came down to deciding which girl would be "Liesl" and casting the rest according to height. some talented kids lost out just because of how tall they were!

That is exactly the part I was thinking of when you said she was auditioning.

That's actually the line she missed.

That's actually the line she missed. | Hmmm.... let's figure the implications of that one.
Good to hear she had a good experience (at the least!).
