For those of you that think there is/was no link between Sadaam Hussain and Islamic Terrorism. I suggest you check out the web site which includes a highly detailed and organized graphical display of the multiple links between Sadaam and terrorist organizations. The site was developed from a recent presentation by by Deroy Murdock (Media Fellow @ the Hoover Institution at Stanford University).

Quote:
Actually, Saddam Hussein knew plenty about terrorism. In essence, he owned and operated a full-service general store for global terrorists, complete with cash, diplomatic aid, safe haven, training, and even medical attention. Such assistance violated United Nations Security Council Resolution 687. The results not only broke international law, but also were deadly, as this chart demonstrates

It's a bit long, but its a good read. America and the entire free world is a safer place place because Sadaam is in captivity. I don't see how anyone could argue with this logic.

The issue is that connecting Saddam to 9-11 is a tenuous stretch. And even if we're somehow safer, which I don't feel we are, that wasn't the reason Bush gave for invading.

Also, why does anyone who supports invading Iraq care about international law all of a sudden?

Was there ever really a question that Iraq has supported terrorist groups? I thought the question had more to do with whether or not Iraq directly supported Al Qaeda and if that support is what led to 9/11.

So Sonny, I'm assuming you would support a U.S. invasion of all countries that support terrorism. So when are you suggesting we invade China, parts of Russia, North Korea, Somalia and Zimbabwe just to name a few.

The U.S. itself back OBL when he was fighting the Russians. Does that not make us a supporter of terrorist groups when it is in our own self-interest. I don't see that Saddam was any different.
