Posted: 03/11/03 - 13:30 Post subject: STILL pregnant...
Well folks, tomorrow is my due date and I'm still pregnant. No shock there...I never expected to go early (though I had hoped), but I'll be pissed if I go too late. I have my 40 week doctor's appointment in an hour, so we'll see if there's any progresss going on down there. Goodness knows we've tried EVERYTHING to speed things up.
The good news is I'm feeling great. My bp is stable, the baby is still rockin' and rollin', so right now we're just twiddling our thumbs.
Back to bouncing on my birthing ball............

Two words for you: Eggplant parmesan.
Seems to work about 50% of the time in kickstarting labor when you're really close. We have a local Italian place that actually has a club for babies that are born within 48 hours of mom eating the dish. (Mom has to be past 36 weeks, I think.)
Good luck to you. My wife and I just had our third, and last, on December 30th.

My mom mentioned this to me yesterday. I might just be making this tonight. Tons more palatable than castor oil.

But not for a lack of trying, right?

Tell the dr. you know where she works and you don't mind camping out on her doorstep so best to take you early. Look menacing as you say this. Then laugh out loud so you can seem insane as well as menacing.
Good luck, OB. While you're wiling away the time, be sure to make a few casseroles, reheatable stuff for later. It really does come in handy.

Forget the eggplant, try curry beef, followed by a bowl of Fruity Pebbles. just be prepared to see it again later.
Don't lose hope Lisa, with my first I was resigned to being overdue, but then went into labor at 10 pm on my due date. She only missed her due date by 3 hours.
