ok, here's my problem.

what i WANT to do is.

to be able to use the GPS data on a spread sheet AND the HRM info to match up. as in see my effort on particular parts.

my first idea is a simple two horizontal line entry

line 1 being GPS
line 2 being HRM
obviuosly i'll have to synch the laps up for this to make comprehensive view of effort/perception/terrain. so i just wanted some input on what i might be overlooking/oversimplifying/or just not even thinking of.

gawd lab techs can be so freaking anal. Mad

You will have to synch them up. Use VLOOKUP or HLOOKUP - both allow you to use multiple criteria to obtain a result. Think tax tables - if you're married (one criteria) and make $50K (the second criteria), you are in the 25% tax bracket (result)*.

* Criteria and results used not actual, but purely theoretical to illustrate the concept.

Workout math is FUN! VLOOKUP and HLOOKUP are Excel functions, not programs. Plenty o' info on it in the Help.
