Our new house has spiders. Shocked I kill a few everyday ranging in size from wee to freakin' huge. I'm scared. Hold me.

Put fresh hedgeapples in a couple of rooms. I don't know why but it works. http://www.hedgeapple.com/

I just saw these things for the first the other day. Is this something new or what?

Nope they've been around forever and used to repel bugs for a long time.

Do you have to buy them on-line, or can I get some at Wally-World?

I had a nice run in with a cockroach last night:

I was getting ready for bed and opened my medicine cabinet. Cockroach jumps out and onto the floor and starts lookin for a hiding spot. I screamed like a little girl. Embarassed

After a few minutes of avoiding cardiac arrest, I cornered and killed it with a magazine. Scooped it up and tossed it into the toilet.

Fast forward to the middle of the night: Got up around 2am to use the bathroom. Lifted the lid ---> saw cockroach (never flushed it). Screamed like a little girl again. Embarassed Embarassed

Fell asleep again aroung 5am.

I f'ing hate coackroaches.

Can you imagine sitting down and having the cockroach crawl up your dangling janglies?

We don't mind spiders because they eat the mosquitos!
There are no existing man-eating spiders...unless the ones you described fit that category...

I've had this thing against spiders recently as well. Don't get me wrong, I'm not one to mind sharing my house with bugs (except nasty ones like roaches) but with kids I worry about spider bites. Apparently the brown spider and the hobo spider are a common spider to watch out for as their bites cause problems with some people. If you do a google search on either spider you can see the effects.

The only spider to ever worry about in N. America is the Black Widow which can be fatal to some people. All other spiders are relatively harmless, depending on a person's reaction to it.
