Posted: 09/19/03 - 08:53 Post subject: SIZE 10! FREAKIN' SIZE 10!
Tired of pants hanging on only because I have hips, tired of people saying "nice lowriders" when I'm wearing regular pants, and tired of the heaviness of extra unnecessary material, I went out last night to purchase some new jeans. I am proud to say I am the owner of two new pairs of size 10 jeans! Considering that in May '02 I couldn't wear jeans because size 18 were a little too snug and last September I was wearing size 16, I am supah psyched today.
WOO HOO!

Women's clothing sizes baffle me.
I've been wearing 32/32 pants forever.

Congrats. Way to go!!
I don't understand women's sizes, either. I know i've got a waist between a 34 and 35 and hope to run my butt back down to a 32.

I know how psyched you must be. I too need new jeans because my 12's are hanging on me. It's such a nice feeling to buy new clothes because the old ones are too big!!
KUDOS to you!

I wish they would do women's sizes that way. You could measure your waist and thats your size. It would make life a lot easier and fitting room experiences less traumatizing. Trust me, women's sizes baffle even women.

You couldn't do that. Women have hips, and unless they're freakishly proportioned, hips are bigger than the waist. I vote for S, M, L, XL and up, and supah hot. That last one would be my size, whatever it actually would be.

But I mean, measure appropriate parts and that be the size. That size 6 would consistently be the following measurements across the board, etc. Its so annoying to order something online and have it be enormous or skin tight. Actually, its annoying just going to a fitting room with sizes 6-12 and XS-XL because you aren't sure which would fit you.

Yeah. My girlfriend is a size 12, but whenever she buys pants from this one store she always has to get a size 14. Not only does it kind of depress her that she has to buy a size 14, but she isn't always quite sure what size she has to buy.

That's why some women's clothing manufacturers make a size 14 but label it as a size 12 so that size 14 women will feel good about themselves because they can fit into a smaller size.
Present company excluded of course.
