What makes fleece so warm? Is it the way it can trap and hold air? How can something so lightweight keep me toasty and cozy all day long?

Don't know for sure, but I'd think it's because of the amount of fleece that is actually air. Same deal with down - it's so warm because there's so much air between the feather, and that trapped air heats up.
