Well... This is my first race since The Run for Women in either June or July. Friday night I started feeling stuffy, by Saturday I had a full blown head cold. Sunday morning is the race.
I arrive early, watch the kids' 1K race. Very nice, very respectable times. Plus they got Ben & Jerry's coupons. I lined up towards the back and the gun went off. Very dissapointing race for me. I came in around 33:18 or so. I was hoping for 30... The "offical" scoring says 28:35 but I have no idea how, the clock overhead said 33:something when I crossed the line.
But I did finish... I have my first 10K next weekend.
I just checked back on what my time was for my race in June... 33:56. So Sunday was a new PR for me, even with the head cold!

So, this was just a warm up for the real race next weekend.
I know what you mean about a head cold. YUCK.

Great job! I would have been tempted to bag it if I didn't feel well. (then again, I'm a wimp) Good luck on your 10k.

Hey is this the Sectionals in New York? I was there. I ran in the Boys Varsity
Class B race. Although I placed 66th out of.......120? I ran a 19:42. That's my best time yet.
From what I know, in the Class AA race Murlock came in first with a sub 15 time and BRD came in 2nd with a 14:20-ish time.
Good job today. Good luck next weekend.
