In the PC media, a white male can never criticize the black race, even if it is constructive without the race card being an issue. Had Tom Jackson said that same thing, there would be know discussion about this whatsoever. |
If Gary Coleman had said that, he would have had to resign.

White males have lost the right to criticize the black race without it being a big deal, at least in a public forum like that.

White males can't give an opinion on anything anymore. If they disagree with "current politically correct perceptions" they are labeled horrible names.
I agree, putting someone down because of race, creed, yadda, yadda is wrong--but people are still allowed OPINIONS!!!

I've never really gotten what's so bad about Gary Coleman, except that he's short. Maybe I missed it... what's he done to make the public hate him so much?
I hope it's not just his size... what a horrible thing for a man to have to deal with! Short jokes are kinda funny, but when it comes right down to it, the guy's got a horrible defect.

But he did not - Their points are almost opposite - I won't repeat what the greek said here - but limbaugh said that mcnabe was getting good press for mediocore performance because he was black

Also applies to white females, too.

Although I believe that McNabb is overrated, I am not so sure it is because he is black. I don't think that Rush should have resigned.
Rush also had defended black coaches in the previous week, saying the rule that teams have to interview black coaches is a sham, and harmful to potential black coaches.

So you guys must love that this guy you follow, who for years has told everyone that drug addicts should go to and stay in jail, is himself an addict. I don't see him signing up for stripes. Hypocrite.

I enjoy his commentary and agree to a certain extent, but wouldn't say "love".
| Gogirlgo wrote: | | ..this guy you follow.. |
Nope, never followed him anywhere. And I don't recall him being "in charge" of leading anything.
| Gogirlgo wrote: | | ...who for years has told everyone that drug addicts should go to and stay in jail... |
Probably the biggest anti-Limbaugh mistake... Are you admitting you listen to him? How else can you say "for years has told"? You're going on heresay otherwise.

You make it sound like he is first celebrity to have a drug problem. Cut the guy some slack. At least he is smart enough to seek help.

BINGO!!!! But you left out the key component of the whole argument. And follwing suit, as per usual, they are now attacking him on his personal stuff (drug addiction) because they really don't have that much of a leg to stand on with the actual issues and they know it. So typical....and really annoying.

Yep. Or you could just admit how much he sucks.
(If it were Mumia you'd be all over him.)

I definitely agree with JJ--has it ever come out just how long he's had this addiction? Perhaps he was sincere until he had to face it himself...do any of you HONESTLY know you'd be strong enough to handle an addiction? And before you answer, don't be so quick to judge that you'd never get into that situation, we aren't talking street drugs here. The man had a very real medical problem that originally necessitated his having to take painkillers.....and a lot of dependency issues are physiological in nature. Not all, but a lot. Don't be so quick to judge a man til you've walked a mile in his shoes. Having battled an eating disorder for much of my youth I can tell you it's not something I would have consciously chosen to have to face, and there were several times that I was close enough to the edge that I wasn't sure if I was coming back.
