So this morning I ventured to the gym (odd for me at 5:30 in the morning, but I have a date tonight and so I am planning accordingly ) When I was done with my workout I saw Wineguy! He looked great (of course). But words weren't spoken. We both did our own thing and that's that.
So this morning ( ) I went to the coffee shop, which is not odd for me since I do it every signle morning. I ran into an old friend that I haven't seen in about 4 years. I used to drink with him a lot. (For all you math nuts, yes I was underage and he was the bartender). He made the best margaritas. Turns out he was living in Europe for a year and now he has this job where he has traveled to 46 states for it. The only one's left are the Carolinas, Hawaii and Alaska! What a hoot. It's amazing to hear about what people are up to in life. Anyhow, he gave me his card and we're gonna get together and chit chat about old times, porbably over some margaritas.
I LOVE reunions with old friends. They're so much fun.

I went to a wedding recently where my table consisted of former cow-orkers of a company I left in 2001. Two of these people I worked with rather closely. No one recognized me because I've lost so much weight and have cut all my hair off. It was hella .

That's funny! I've actually seen this friend one other time in the coffee shop. I wasn't sure if it was him or not since it had been 4 years. Turns out he thought the same thing the one time too.
I run into a lot of people that have noticed the change from nonrunning Alyson to the running Alyson. It's way cool!

I'm usually uncomfortable meeting old friends.
Don't know why....but I usually find myself trying to escape, like I have something terrible I'm hiding.
(Unless I suffer from multiple personality disorder....I don't think I've done anything horrible)

Drinking is bad for your running.

Not sure why, either. It just always feels awkward to me.

I love it! It's kind of like no time has gone by at all, but both parties know it has and there's so much to talk about!

It's been both for me. Depends on a lot of things, was it an old BF/someone I dated, was it a close old friend or just someone I worked with kinda thing.....sometimes it's a lot of fun and sometimes it's like, OK, that was weird.....
I forget who it was that said that emails from old friends were cool, but I'd agree more with that in the beginning that in person.
