Looks like my 22 miler this weekend will be in the rain. I am so not liking the looks of this.

Will it really be raining the entire time? Rain stops quickly here and just keeps moving out East.

Ivan should be hitting you about right if it curves and goes toward DC.
I ran my first 18 or 20 miler in the rain. Actually it only rained for the first 3-4 miles, just enough to get my socks and shoes soaking wet, then stayed about 100% humid the rest of the run--have fun!

Rain is better than 80 percent humidity!

You need to experience this in a training run. I didn't and my last race, a half was a shocking experience. Started out with a bum ankle and it started raining at mile 3. It actually poured the entire time, thunder, a little lightening, a real blast. Mile 8 I stepped in a pothole I couldn't see cuz there was 6 inches of water across the pavement I had to cross it to get through. Then I had 2 bum ankles. Finished and it was still pouring. It sucked.
Maybe if I had done some training runs in the rain it wouldn't have seemed so bad. I doubt it. No really, it's not bad.

I ran the full marathon that JACKED did the half, and I loved it! It seemed like almost every long training run was in storms - baby, I was ready !
If you have a choice between training in rain and storms, and training in heat and humidity, go with the rain. Every time.

I whined about running in the rain once. This is the response I got:
"Quit whining about running in the rain. Just get out and do it. It builds character and if you're going to call yourself a runner, you had better get used to rain".
Of course this advice was met with a
I'll pass it along to you Diva

And I'd go with the heat and humidity, go figure.

I'd rather run in snow or rain than in 100% humidity
