Anyone buy this stuff from Road Runner, or anywhere else.
In the summer/warmer season, the liner in my running shorts is sufficient. I have however noticed that running in tights, however, can be quite cool without a little protection south of the border.
I have never bought any of the fancy running stuff, just use my old boxer-briefs. Can anyone give a report? without too much embarrassment?

Yep, I have 4 pair. 2 from Road Runner and 2 coolmax from someone else. they are great for that inbetween shorts and tights weather. Also, a great base for long winter runs.

Running shorts are my base layer. In the winter/fall, I use them as my base layer under the running tights.

In the winter I just use my old underware.
In the summer, shorts liner is fine
Did not feel it was necessary to buy the underware.

Being female, I don't have the south of the border protection issues that you guys do, so I generally use bike shorts as the bottom layer in the winter, although I'm from the SandyTX school of running that says commando is always better!

I think that asics makes seamless boxer briefs for men. Those sound really nice, but they are a bit pricey. $20 for underwear? Anyway, I might get them

Yeah, I don't think it gets that cold over here (however it was quite cold this morning) for me to need tights under my shorts. If anything, I would just wear sweats, even though that would be very heavy. But then again, I'm not training at such a high level yet that it would make that much of a difference.

Same here, it does get cold here (MN) but then I run on a treadmill. when it's not unreasonably cold, sweats are fine.

Ex Officio underwear works great for me...at REI about 20 a pair but they are great for running in cold, keep me warm, wick moisture. Wish i had 20 pairs of em.
