I'm afraid my heart monitor is about to give up the ghost. I've been looking at replacing it with one with more features. I was thinking about getting one that tells me distance as I would like trying new routes without having to re-run them in the car.
So the question is: Do I go with a GPS system or the Polar "inertial"? Has anyone tried it?

My previous HRM was a Polar and I had been pretty happy with it.
(I'm not fond of having a big thing stuck to my shoe - they at least could have added a spare key compartment - but it may be better than having it tied around your arm like the GPS ones.)

I have the Garmin 201 and I love it. Does speed and distance stuff but not HR. There is a model that does though I think.

The Garmin Forerunner 301 has a HR monitor, along with all of the other features the 201 has.
I also own a Forerunner 201 and have found it to be an extremely valuable training tool. I feel naked running without it.
