Run For The Kids 5K
We weren't sure of the weather this morning as they forcasted rain early. The temp was about 60* and the further North we drove, the darker it got.
This was mrsbill's Son's first 5K, so we were all pretty excited... I ran 12 yesterday and drank some beers while cutting the grass, so I wasn't sure how well I would do. (actually, more than some)
This is a smaller race, so I'm not sure how accurate the Mile markers were.
Mile 1: 7:07 ... This felt good, surprised that I feel OK.
Mile 2: 6:31 ... OK, now I know the mile markers are off. I see my Brother and Nephew out there cheering us on!
Finish: 7:39 ... 21:18 unofficial. Wow! I guess all the training does pay off...
Good enough for a 1st Place finish in the 'old dude' category!!
