Women close booze shop
Frustrated Romanian women forced a 24-hour shop to close because its cheap booze was making their men impotent.
Women at Nistoresti said shopkeeper Ion Barbu was causing chaos by staying open all hours and letting men buy drink on credit.
They staged protests outside the store and also complained to consumers protection officials, reports local daily Seven Days.
Dumitru Dila, head of the Consumers' Protection Office in Vrancea, confirmed the store had been closed while they investigated breaches of the trading laws.
He said: "The women filed a complaint that the local men were buying alcohol all the time, even in the middle of the night, and were also offered alcohol on credit.
"They said the store had made many men impotent and caused several family rows that had ended in divorce. We have ordered it to close while we carry out our enquiries."
