I do my long runs along the canal by the library on Saturdays.

Weird, so do I. Small world. But that is a very nice (and soft) stretch to run.

Where are you located Grunt? Are you running the AZ RnR?

I'm out in Gilbert. I thought about the RnR and almost signed up. But, I felt like I didn't have enough time to train properly. So, maybe next time.

Are you in AZ too? Are you running the full or half?

Wow. we all live in Gilbert! Razz
I'm going to try and go for 9-12 miles tommorrow morning at 7am, if anyone is interested in running with me.
I had a good week with no pain while running Wed(for 6) and Frid(5-tempo) run. I think the PT/Sports Doc. have narrowed down what was going on. I have an inflamation on top of this tiny muscle in the back of my knee called the Popletus(spelling?). They did ultrasound and gave my a cortisone injection.
If all goes well tomorrow with 12 miles, then the full might still be in for me.
If Sunday doesn't work out for us to run, does anyone want to run on Tuesday morning? We could meet up at the library on Greenfield and Guadalupe at say 7am or even 6:30 if you want to go earlier.
Let me know, Lisamarie

Sorry Lisamarie, I had to skip my long run on Saturday. I usually run in my neighborhood on M/W/F by 5:00 AM. So, I think we're going to miss one another. Only on Saturday's am I on the canal.

It is official! I just registered for the race. Next step is to arrange the flights and lodging. I'll do that in the next couple weeks.

Anybody else excited about the concert headliner at the post race party? The Goo Goo Dolls will be performing at the post-race party. As an added bonus the lead singer is running the marathon and playing a song with EVERY band along the way.

I may have to push my flight home back a few hours now. Smile

Ok. I'm registered for the race and I now have my airline tickets purchased. Next step is lodging and transportation. Since I'm not allowed to rent a car (must be over 25), any suggestions? I'm considering a hotel close to the finish since there are free shuttles before the race. That way I'd only have to pay for a Taxi or bus from Sky Harbor to the hotel on Friday night and the hotel to Sky Harbor on Sunday night.

Flt info:
Arr. PHX at 11:43pm Friday IND time (9:43pm Friday PHX time)
Dpt. PHX at 1:34am Monday IND time (11:34pm Sunday PHX time)

hey koby...if you keep in touch maybe I can help with transportation. (I need reminders as I am getting oldenheimers disease early. If you'd like, I can pick you up at airport and take you to your hotel.
There are some hotels in down town Tempe (where finish is) but aren't that cheap. I suppose I could look around for something a bit away that might be better $$ and not to gross depending on what you are looking for. Let me know if this is something you'd like me to do. Also, The Tempe Mission Palms is a nice hotel, near the finish and walking distance to all the post race concerts and stuff but a bit pricey. I would stay there if I were you and could afford it. The night life in the area is great, especially since you are under 25. ASU campus...party every weekend. A definate hot spot around here.
Good Luck

Hotel has been reserved. EconoLodge at ASU. I got it for Friday night and Saturday night. Won't need it Sunday night since I'll be flying home.

Just got my Run Number in the mail.

I assume this is my Bib number I'll pick up the day before the race.
How about you? Have you received your numbers yet?

Not yet. Hopefully in the next day or two I'll get mine (I do live a little further away. Mr. Green)
