Posted: 02/05/03 - 09:18 Post subject: Riff Raffers, I want your help!
I was thinking while listening to some tunes on the mill last night, wouldn't it be cool to take a bunch of upbeat songs voted on by the RR gang and put them on a disc?
So, here's what I am proposing: I want you all to think of a couple of songs that really get your blood pumping. Songs with good beats, what have you. They can be any genre - heavy metal, country, Yanni (for Joel). Any song that you might like to have in your head while running.
I will eventually compile a list, and have everyone vote for their top 10 or so. Then I will take the 15 or so songs receiving the most votes, and start burning. I really want to do this for everyone. I will need some help though. Burning 50 discs on my own might be pushing it. Is anyone else even interested in something like this? I would design a cover and liner for it, so it would be a personalized Riff Raff product. What do you think? As always, all I would expect in return is postage. CD's are cheap, and I can usually find a spindle that after rebate it's free anyway.
Any input would be great. Otherwise, just name some songs!
Thanks, Randy
p.s. I may also need help from those that download music alot on digging up these songs and sending them to me. If I had Monk's collection, I may have them all, but I do not. I would love to hand these out at Madison, and send them to those that won't be making it.

I think it's a fabulous idea!! If I have any of the music, I'll be happy to send you a copy.
My favorite song to work out to is (I know--but it's the clean version) Eminem--Lose Yourself
They play it at the gym where I go and it just has the perfect rhythm for when I'm slowing down and need a boost.

Randy,
AWESOME IDEA!!!
Let me know if you need any monetary help.
Possible songs??
Run, Runaway by Slade
Break My Stride by Matthew Wilder
Wherever I May Roam by Metallica
Superman (I am) by REM
There are about a million others, these are just a little off-beat that will hopefully draw some attention from the peanut gallery.

Side one (I am dating myself here) Rush's Moving Pictures. It has the perfect cadence for running:
1. Tom Sawyer
2. Red Barchetta
3. YYZ
4. Limelight
