fall is nearing, well at least school is anyways. the temporary sanity of not having the kids at home anymore will soon be overshadowed with school sports, pta meetings, and bakesales.
i must ask you all as the summer draws to a close - what did you get done?
any big highlights? special events? roadtrips? promos? moves? babies? uncles? milestones? goals? broken legs? new shoes?
with one last night before i start classes i'm gonna put my summer into review...
i know for sure that i spent a whole freiken lot of it servin' people coffee .
how about you?

Here's a summary of the summer of 2003
-worked most of the summer as a research lab assistant and I loved it!
-went to Kelowna on a work trip for 3 days
-got my new heart rate monitor
-recovered from my stress fracture in May and have successfully built up mileage again (though still suffering from some shin splints )
- did my grade 10 piano exam and failed it
- acquired a nice tan waist up and thigh-down
That pretty much sums up most of my summer!

I'm with FB...I don't think summer ever ends here.
Finished 6 more hours towards my M.Ed.
Maintained my mileage and weight over the summer.
Dag...didn't accomplish much over the summer...

This summer reaffirmed my belief that summer and its corresponding hot, humid weather both royally suck. Though summer officially lasts for another 3 weeks, my wrap-up will hopefully keep the weather cool like it's been the last week:
- ran a bunch of races: some good, some ugly, all learning experiences
- slowly climbing back to the shape I was in before the crash & burn
- aunt for the 3rd time over
- great vacation at the Jersey shore: most relaxing time I can remember in years
- went back to school: 1 class down, 17 more to go
- got the weirdest tan I've ever seen

-sliced about 80+ fish brains and mastered the art of the cryostat
-made a little progress with my running (running outside really made a diference)
-got a kick butt job at the zoo and which hopefully will jump start any potential career moves i maight want to make...
yeah, thats really about it. no vacations, no day trips, not much of anything really...
this was the first summer since i was 15 that i wasnt working 60-70 hour weeks and i was actually kind of bored when i wasnt at school slicing. it was interesting though...

spent the majority of June weekends and a few in July too--building our deck
810 sq ft composite--had a buddy help me with the super structure, but Pebbs the kids and I did the rest.....
took the kiddos to a local amusement park--still owe them a trip to Six Flags Ohio next weekend
took Nick to a few ballgames
and got to go out with Pebbs a few times, even getting dragged onto the dance floor (reluctantly)
