I don't think I would ever solicit opinions or advice from anyone online....unless it involved what you are having for a meal or what color underwear you are currently sporting.....you know all the really important things in life.....

I would never solicit the opinions of strange men I've never met while trying to buy a gift for a loved one. That would just be WHACK.

The wide base of experiences here is what makes it so valuable.
The thing about advice and opinions: YOU DON'T HAVE TO TAKE THEM.
It never hurts to listen to what people have to say. Just because they are behind a computer screen doesn't mean their opinions and experiences aren't valid. Besides, what idiot would take the opinion of just one person they never met?
That's why threads are so cool because you will see different view points and ideas and maybe even things you hadn't even thought of.
Like if I thought about opening a gym, I'd ask JU for her experiences and opinions.
If I want to improve my speed I ask several different peeps on this board and listen to all of them and with outside study, make up my own mind.
If I had trouble with a teacher, I'd ask Noley or Coach or Keltic. They know the inside system and can give me advice.
So far, with a little common sense, and not just blind following, I have received some great help from peeps on this board.
I think there are some very valid opinions to be heard. What does it hurt to listen to what people have to say?

it's like the "real world" there are folks here who's advice is sound and good, there those that are good meaning but might not have all the information required, and well then there are those like..........

That is your opinion and I don't have to agree with it, nor do I

Big Thumbs up, that is your choice

Again I will restate, I don't solicit advice, that is my choice.

Great--and that's great for you.
It's just worked for me, because in moving around I haven't been able to establish a network of friends to lean on. Also, I don't have family to fall back on either.
So, some of the peeps here have really helped me in certain areas.
And, in testing their opinions/advice on simple things, they've been right.

Fine, Super, Double Thumbs Up....I responded in kind as you quoted me.
Whatever works for you, great for you.
This place used to be a fun place to kill time and goof around. I never put any stock into it being a place to fish for advice....but to each his own.

Seems like it, actually I pop on when I am office bound.
If you would care to look at my meager post total there are gaps of days/weeks of me not being here. But glad you noticed...someday some of the fun people who abandoned the place might come back, probably not, but that is my opinion.

My opinion is that your wit, humor and style of comedy is golden when used for good. Nobody is funnier or can bring more smiles to a forum than you in a "happy place".

soliciting forum opinion may leave you feeling like the village idiot, or no, even better --the village dum dum. it's a risk but the good outweighs the bad in this idiot's opinion.
it's all fantasy. life's a flipppin' fantasy. ROLL with it.
