There are people here who have wide ranging expertise in matters that are beyond my ken. I would trust their suggestions.
Getting opinions from others is a very common way to make decisions. Our final decision is totally up to ourselves, despite what others may have said.
I can think of no difference between getting an opinion on line here or at the water coller at work.

we have a wide range of professionals here doctors, lawyers, accoutants, computer technos, teachers, engineers, etc. I value individual opinions here that I privately seek out

Sometimes I seek an opinion b/c I know it will be the polar opposite of mine and I want to understand that view more. You guys are a good sampling. Not random, but still good.

I don't trust you all MORE, but probably not less than a nosey coworker offering an unsolicited opinion....meaning, I might consider your views and perspectives before I make the decision on my own. Although, I can't think of too many huge decisions I've really put before you all... "Chick fila or Subway?"

Maybe we are all really good at them, excpetionally so, and that gives us most of the day to asss-jack around?
