If you were going to be spending an extended period of time in a car alone, and all you had was music to keep you entertained (well, that and making faces at the little kids in the car next to you) what would you listen to?
Full albums, individual songs, or playlist suggestions are welcome...

A few, and I mean very few, here:
The entire playlist of Midnight Oil
The entire playlist of Radiohead
Jimi Hendrix' first three (Are you Experienced?, Axis: Bold As Love, Electric Ladyland)
Robin Trower's first three (Twice Removed From Yesterday, Bridge of Sighs, For Earth Below)
Audioslave (and I presume their Out Of Exile will be as good)
Any Beatles through and including Sgt Pepper
Stones, Exile On Main Street
Savoy Brown, Blue Matter
I enjoy the first issues of bands before they became popular. Always interesting.

GREAT song. I think I was in the 8th grade when this one came out!!!
For long car rides, I have to find my "vacation 96 tape". Yes, tape, before CD's were available and/or cheap.
I know for a fact these songs are on it:
Weird Al Yankovich "Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesota"
GoGo's "Vacation"
GNR "Paradise City"
Of course, can't remember what else is on tape. Must find tape....

I'd want something slower paced with some pensive lyrics, mixed in with some fun up tempo stuff to keep from getting bummed......
Allman Bros
Little Feat
Townes Van Zandt
Steve Earl
Eric Taylor
Marcia Ball
Stevie Ray Vaughn
Dr. John
C.C. Adcock
Delbert McClinton
Doyle Bramhall
Jon Dee Graham
Ray Wylie Hubbard
Ruthie Foster
Patty Griffin
Flatlanders
Robert Earl Keen
Tish Hinijosa
Nancy Griffith
Marc Broussard
Guy Clark
Mance Lipscomb
Albert Collins, Johnny Copeland, Robert Cray
Lightnin' Hopkins
Kelly Joe Phelps
John Prine
Billy Joe Shaver
Willie
that'll do for now....mix it all up on a few mp3 encoded CDs....enough for say, 24 hours.....
