Simple Question. As most of you know last year I won the local 50K race in a time of 5:04.31. I had promised myself soon after the race to get myself a trophy made to recognize this accomplishment and I never got around to it.
Before you ask, Yes the race was that small that I guess the couldn't afford a trophy for the first place male and female.
So the question is,

This is not some squatty little 5K that you could walk with your eyes closed. Of course you should. You even placed 1st in the thing Eric!! Many will never accomplish what you did. You'll have it to pass on to your son or daughter.

I guess I feel wierd walking into a trophy shop asking them to create something that says March 2004 on it.

i'm not sure. i mean, if you want one, then go for it. i don't think i'd buy my own trophy (granted i don't normally win). but if you want to - do it up.
and on a cheapness level - my high school made really nice plaques for the honor students each year, and i think one of 4 were engraved.... that's gonna look weird when i finally go get those taken care of.
edit: make sure you get a man trophy, not one of them girly lookin' ones.
