ummmm......Just to put it in perspective for some of you...I wish I could afford to go to a gym to be annoyed.
I make it work with a $50 stepper, a little fan to keep it cool, and a set of dumbells from 8 to 20 pounds.
On the plus side, no one else seems to want to use them.

Exactly, which is why I don't need half my office preaching their latest diet or workout craze as if it is the only way anyone can be healthy/fit/in shape, ESPECIALLY when they themselves will fall off the wagon in 2 weeks. Do whatever whatever works for you, just don't criticize what I'm doing, etc.
Jr those are some pretty phenomenal results there

hey guys,
i just read this new weight loss program. it stated if you balanced one's caloric intake and exercise you'd lose weight!!! OMG how cool is that??
I just love the ones that pick on me for being thin, they say i am too skinny, but can't figure out why i eat so much. God forbid they doo see me eating an occasional candy bar. i swear they look at me like i am the anit-Christ. they comment on me being too skinny tell me how they are doing such & such to lose weight but i see them stuffing their faces with all kinds of empty calories constantly. then tell me they are "comfortable" with the way they look. what it's ok to be mistaken for a hippo out of water?
here have a sign, and no you can't eat it.

If you work where I do, after you leave the room they then say you probably purge all you eat in the bathroom, thats why you are TOO skinny.

WITNESS!!
Not just at the health club or Y either. I saw it at school all the time. The first couple of weeks of the semester, classes were full, the parking lot was fuller and it was annoying as all get out. Less than half-way through the semester, I would suddenly realize that my classes were missing about half the students, and it wasn't so hard to find a place to park anymore. I guess that's why they say the road to life is paved with good intentions.
Regarding the Atkins Diet - people really need to read the fine print and be wary. It is fine for a few months, but it can damage your health over the long run. Your body was made to run efficiently on glucose energy, less efficiently on protein and fat energy. Low-carb diets leave you feeling weak and without energy. Your brain was designed to run on glucose energy, and it really rebels against switching to fat and protein energy. It will over a course of time, but not willingly, only for survival. Low carb diets can throw your body into ketosis.
So, not surprisingly, the most successful diets are those that involve a lifestyle change including the addition of exercise, and just plain old eating healthfully.

I will be happy when the Resolutioners again fall off the fitness wagon...Last year I dropped my gym membership after my department built us a start of the art gym at our training center. The problem is we have tons of weight machines but only token numbers of cardio equipment. Two treadmills to be exact. Those have been handy during inclement weather. But now the resolutioner "walkers" have taken them over. Oh well, I'm sure they will fade away with the approach of February.
