Get the battery tested just to be sure. It's free! But alternator is a good bet.

it's a new battery. but you never can tell i suppose.

Hopefully i can find a good used Alternator if it is that. I only need it good for a yr - 2 at the most

OK, so this morning it started... worked perfectly the whole way to work. I am still taking it to the garage either at lunch or after work to see what they can find if anything Mad

Bad ground.... trace the heavy black wire from the negative terminal on the battery to where it's bolted to the frame and make sure nothing is loose or broken.

If your humidity has been creeping up while the temps drop, you could have a condensation problem too. Had that in my old car in the fall all the time.
