At 16, I was a junior in high school, attending my 2nd semester of said year in Idaho. Had two best buddies, Curt and Michelle. I still keep in touch with Curt, though he lives in Idaho and I've lived everywhere since.
Mom and I had a fight that year, she kicked me out of the house just a few weeks before the end of the school year. Stayed with Michelle and her family, then hopped on a bus to go live with Dad in Florida. Michelle and I kept in touch for a bit, but then her family moved, I moved again, we lost contact as people do.
I've always wanted to find her again. I've looked for her on the internet many times.
Michelle has a box I had left with her family, full of pictures, diaries, stuff like that. Her mother has moved quite a bit, taking my box with her everywhere, and finally suggested that Michelle go through my things and try to find me. Michelle ended up finding my Aunt Gwen's address, got her phone number, and well she called me last night.
It's very cool to hear the voice of an old friend, especially a good friend. We had a great semester that year, and took a trip down memory lane last night. Good times. Yes, I'm getting my box of memories back, but far better is that my good friend found me, and we're going to keep in touch this time. I'm very happy this morning!!

Nice story Brie....
I can usually find my old friends from high school by going to the one bar in the small town...
I remember my 16th birthday...I had a friend drive me and my car down to the drivers license office a half hour before it opened....I was the first one in the door! WOOOOO HOOOOOO....freedom! I bought the car a few days before, a 1967 VW, with lawn mowing money that I had saved for 3 years....
