born Catholic. raised Catholic. did all the Catholic sacrements in a Catholic church.

went to a fairly far right Presbyterian college where i rejected the entire notion of religion, mocked it, mocked everyone who believed, used the Lord's name in vain every chance i could. rebelled. married a guy who was religion-less.

attempted to get back into the Catholic church for my kids but never felt the true welcome i needed. i felt shunned.

lived with the guilt of Catholic girl gone bad. unbaptized children tortured me. churchless for 18 years. no organized Christian life whatsoever.

i joined a Methodist church in 2002. this church was what i needed to let me feel that organized religion can and will have a place in my life. this was for me, selfishlessly. me, myself and I.

i attend service every sunday, teach a wednesday evening 5th grade enrichment class and have taken very interesting, historic and spiritually enriching Bible studies for the last 2 years.

my husband is an agnostic. my son is unchurched as well. my daughter is with me in the Methodist church, loves their youth group and has, so far, embraced Christianity and her idea of faith in God without any prodding or prompting from her mother.

Raised Catholic

Taught in a Catholic school for 5 years.

Still Catholic...although I don't attend every Sunday. The Mrs. and I decided neither of us could get anything out of the Mass when the little guys were present.

So we alternate now. The two older kids go each Sunday, and one of us goes with them, and the other stays home with the babies.

Went to a Lutheran church when I was a kid. Didn't go for a few years in my late teens/early 20's. Started back going to a non-denom Christian church and I've finally settled at a Southern Baptist church (of which I'm not a member).

Attend almost every Sunday morning, both Sunday school and service. Other than that, I'm not very involved.

I was baptized and raised Lutheran until about age 13, when I stopped going to church for personal reasons (a friend's father committed suicide and the church would not perform the ceremony). I went to Catholic school, however. Let me tell you, as "one of the little Protestant girls" (there were about 10 - 15 of us, depending) this was not exactly a walk in the park with the nuns. I learned to have fun with it, however. Nuns don't like questions, especially about dogma. And never get into an arguement with a nun about the fact that Jesus wasn't technically dead for 3 days.

Now I'm more spiritual than religious. I don't care for organized religion, but I believe in some sort of higher power, karma, and each individual's spirituality and right to believe in what suits them.

Went to a Luthern Church (Missiouri Synod) until I was 13.

Then I started going to the Catholic church. Went through first communion at 16 and was confirmed at 18 with my peers. I still attend the Catholic church.

I normally attend mass every Sunday, but have missed the last couple weeks due to travelling and other commitments. I'm in the music ministry there (play trombone) and may get a little more involved as well.

Raised Catholic. VERY Catholic. Went to Catholic schools for 16 years and then fell of the wagon. I now spend a lot of time thinking about religion and spiritual things, but have no desire to join a church or raise my children in a specific faith.

I agree we are starting to drift off topic. Topic is discussing our religions.

Not so much off topic, but it's in really bad taste.
