Ever been in Germany on the Autobahn? I have and it was cool. Cool

The bus transporting us from Rhien Main A.F.B. to Wiesbaden was clipping along at about 70 mph. Two bikes (BMW's, of course!) went by us as if we were parked. And yes, the bikers and their passengers were wearing helmets. Why? I have no idea. They were just below Ludicrous Speed and it seems unlikely that they'd have been anything more than bags of broken bones with about as much internal support as provided by warm Jell-o.

True: they can't drive 55.

It took me six months after moving to Germany before I even took the test for my German Driver's License.

We would be going 80/90 EASY, when someone wanted to pass. Shocked I eventually learned to love the idiosyncracies of the 'bahn. (like if you miss your exit, --known as "ausfahrts" lots of giggles w/that---you are screwed until the next town) The best thing about German drivers is how polite and courteous they are. They let traffic in, they move out of the way for cops and ambulances. Very considerate.

The law is that if you witness an accident you must stop and render aid. (no brainer). It is a hella-lot more difficult to give a police report when the only german you know is: I'm having chest-pains, thank you, and where is the loo?

Yep, them discovery motions etc... can be interesting..

When was the unit calibrated?
When was the officer last trained?
When is the next calibration due on the unit?
When is the officers next training class?
Does the officer have a calibration device in the vehicle?

Byt the way Your Honor...how was your fishing trip to Oracoke Island? Really? That sounds like fun...guess the Marge and I will go with you and Barb next year...

Hey, I have a huge number of cases, so can I have a continuance? Thanks Frank...I mean Your Honor...

yada...yada...yada...blah...blah...blah..

Fond Memories....
