not us.

There are no secrets. Ranger knows exactly what I have done and with/to whom. All of it. It's quite liberating when you open the door to your closet and your SO looks in and compliments you on your choice of skeletons.

We have no secrets
We tell each other everything
About the lovers in the past
And why they didn't last
We share a cast of characters from A to Z
We know each others fantasies
And though we know each other better when we explore
Sometimes I wish
Often I wish
That I never knew some of those secrets of yours

The water was cold
The beach was empty but for one
Now you were lying in the sun
Wanting and needing no-one
Then some child came, you never asked for her to come
She drank a pint of your Rum
And later when you told me
You said she was a bore
Sometimes I wish
Often I wish
That I never knew some of those secrets of yours

In the name of honesty, in the name of what is fair
You always answer my questions
But they don't always answer my prayers
And though I know you say that it's me that you adore
Sometimes I wish
Often I wish
That I never, never, never knew
Some of those secrets of yours
Some of those secrets of yours
Some of those secrets of yours
We have no secrets
Telling each other

does withholding information (that has never been requested) count as lying? I mean, don't volunteer info that can be damaging, right?

that said, I find that I have volunteered some things and my SO is very good about it, much like RangerG and Maddie's Wench have discovered. Plus, he always tells me that he knew I was crazy when we met, and he still stayed. That's good for me, but I wonder what that says about him.....

I don't think you have to tell everything ever ("...and when I was five, I had a red sweater...") but I do think omission can be the same as lying. The trick is to know when it's evasion and when it's discretion.

Well, I caught Kramer in a huge lie. The kind of lie that destroys relationships. Instead of kicking to the curb like I should have, I married him.

And then I act all surprised that the behavior repeated.

I'm a wiser woman now though, and there is a hella lot I just won't tolerate, hence why I'm guyfriendless at this time.

At least you stopped at one and didn't find several in the same mode and still continue to believe that "this one's different" and honestly be totally surprised when they weren't
