to eliminate pain. Has anyone had this done, or know someone who has? I've been doing some research and I have found a little bit, but not much relevant, on the subject, as it's mostly used on back pain, but my pain management dr wants to do this to my feet, (one at a time) to try to kill the pain receptors in the nerves.

[Radio announcers voice]Up next is a special long distance dedication to a sweet lady in pain, from her friends in Riff Raff. It's "Walkin On Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves. I'm Casey Casum, and our weekly countdown is heard nationwide on such great radio stations as W.I.N.O., Wonderful Wino, Lenna, Illinois.[/Raido announcers voice]

I don't know 'nuthin. My MIL had a spine stimulator and apparently didn't help because she was still getting more and more drugs because of the tolerance she built up and then started ODing. She's only has the stimulator and celebrex and is out of the wheelchair...so maybe that counts as PT....walking everyday, but says she has to tolerate some pain. But who knows, she's a liar.

I know they have a procedure for reducing snoring/apnea that uses radio frequencies.
Its a fairly new process - I would suggest more research on your part. Not that its not proven effective but as with anything new there may be problems.

Ranger and Hyper, you guys are cute!
Sue, that's scary; most of the information I found was on the procedure for the spine. This is fairly new but he is a good dr, I feel confident in him, and quite frankly, after having a quack already screw up the one foot with the bone infection surgery and cause more nerve damage (then disappear), I'll try this IF he really thinks it is going to work.
Andy, I saw the sleep apnea surgery using this technology mentioned as well in my reseacrh to date. Perhaps if it works I will have my husband get it done.

Sheesh...I handle snoring problems on fellow reenactors all the time. I am a regular doctor with a sink plunger, screwdriver and a pair of needle nose pliers.... I'm also a fair hand a deviating septums..

I'm just worried he's going to stop breathing, because he does, sometimes, for like 30 seconds, and when that wakes me up I nudge him and he starts breathing again.
Wait, you said devaiting septums, not fixing them right?

Oh, trash away. I had no choice in the Keys since it was emergency surgery and a bone infection which could spread. I went into surgery crying, because the guy was talking about having to remove bones in my foot. He was all that they could get at the hospital there. I had a few follow-ups with him, and he disappeared (literally)! I'm thinking of calling the AMA or else going to San Francisco to search the bars for him (he came from there).
