Here is my race report from Friday night, Saturday Morning and Saturday Night.
Friday - 7:30 PM: It was extremely windy for stage 1 of the Tour De Pain. Stage 1 is a 4 mile out and back course on Jacksonville Beach. The southern leg was with the wind and then for the 2 miles back north it was back into the wind. My Splits: 1: 7.52 - 7.52 2: 7.41 - 15.33 3: 8.20 - 23.53 4: 8.26 - 32.20 Chip time was 32:18 Slowly feeling better mentally.
4 Mile Beach Run Results
Age Group: 21/63
Overall: 125/344
Saturday - 7:30 AM
Race 2 of the Tour De Pain: Splits: 1: 1.38 - 1.38 2: 1.28 - 3.06 3: 1.36 - 4.43 4: 1.31 - 6.14 I have to work on my 3rd quarter stamina!!!
1 Mile Sizzler Results
Age Group: 20/56
Overall: 110/321
Saturday - 7:30 PM
The final leg of the tour de pain. I am guessing it was 80 degrees and windy again. The wind was in our face more or less at the start and it disappeared on the return trip. I was a little sore at the start
Splits:
1: 7.00
2: 7.12
3:7.21
.1:0.39
Total: 22:12
5K Finale Results:
Age Group: not available yet
Overall: Not available yet
Overall Series Placing after 2 events
Age Group: 19/56
Men’s Overall: 123/485
Overall Summary:
I was pretty happy with my results. My goal was to run the series in 1:00:15 with stage times of:
4 Mile Beach Run: 32:00
1 Mile Sizzler: 6:15
5K Finale: 22:00
Based on my watdch I am looking at 1:00:46.
I am way off of last year’s times but I know the problem. Too much BEER and snacks! I have to cut back again. If I can get my weight back down to 185 or below (currently sitting at around 195!) I will be running a lot stronger. Until then I feel I will continue to struggle. I really think it sank in this weekend that I need to really pay attention to what I eat and control my weight. It is going to be tough with football season coming up but I will just have to make a concerted effort to cut back.
As soon as the results are posted for the 5K I will update the final results for Age Group and overall placing.

That race sounds like fun to me! It'd be neat to try. Once.
You're not the only one who needs to cut down on beer and snacks. My summertime fun is officially ova.
