Since all you cats were so darn helpful with the advice I feel the need to fill you in on the 'goings-ons'...

I'm enjoying the HECK out of all the planning and preperation thus far. In the past week, I have:

-Created a Sponsorship program
-Rolled out our marketing plan
-scouted the routes
-Landed 3 sponsors already
-Convinced the committee to agree on long sleeve tshirts (Red ones too!)
-Started posting the race on various websites (RW, Coolrunnings, active etc)
-Completed the layout for the Race website (that PH is so generously going to assist me in).

My newest idea is to incorporate some kind of trivia event for all the walkers. Not really sure how I'm gonna do it, but I'm thinking about posting 'hints' and 'questions' along the route...then when they return, they'll have to answer some questions and get some cool prizes and such. Whatcha think?

i think i admire the HECK out of you for doing this so well....

red long sleeve shirts rock.

the thought of organizing a race like this is nauseating to me--you are just grabbin' it by the earlobe and callin' it your own. way to go Joel.

when is the race?

Yeah, sounds way cool! And yeah, when is the race.

Oh, if you need any help with that trivia thing, let me know.

I'll let you know, FLA...

The race isn't until May 2nd but we want to get as much done right now so we're not stressing in the final months.

it's been wicked fun planning it all out and I'm thankful that the board is pretty much handing it all over to me and letting me ride...

Yep! That's HUGE. Last year they were able to collect $19,000 (not bad with an attendance of 100 runners/walkers).

This year, my goal is to have 150 participants and $25,000... Mr. Green

Everything looks great! I liked the Trivia idea a lot. I bet that will be something that the walkers will enjoy. Very Happy

When can we see the website? Sounds cool!

Keep up the great work!
