Anyone get started yet?

I'm a big fan of non-chronological stories and plots, so the discontinuity in ages and times alone made me love the book.

Love this book.

This book actually is chronological...it just takes a little bit to figure out how it is structured.

Right. I just like how the ages jump around. It gives the same sense of non-chronology. It's different from norm, that's for sure.

I bought it this week. I will start it next week when the book I'm in is over.

I've started it and it is an interesting story so far.

It's nice to know it really is chronological (I wasn't fully sure). I've found myself flipping back to remind myself what day/moment in time I'm in and whether or not it's Henry or Clare talking.

I'm halfway done.

I do that too LOL
I'm almost done, just about plowed thru it in 4 nights. It's an addictive plot.

...I hope there's no dude-point loss though for reading a 'romance'. Wink

I think I'd be all out of dude points because of this book, then.

Finished it up...

What's the significance of the galoshes-hallway for the final scene?

It was a real good read. Good idea Jenn. The running tie-in added a relateable quirk. I do wish the author would have developed that side more, but I got the impression she might not be a runner so she could only go so far with it.

I don't remember the running tie-in. Refresh my memory?

Because Henry gets plunked down nekkid in various times he has often had to run to escape danger, so running is a big part of his life. And near the end is part of the reason why he is shot by the hunters/Claire's father...he can't run anymore.

Ah. I was going to say, I don't remember Claire lacing up for the NYCM.

And not just the running to save his neck, Henry was a daily runner. Claire talked about how much energy he has and running subsides much of that with his morning excursions, plus it keeps him level and 'here' by calming him and sedating his mind/nerves. There were even a few scenes, as they were, where Henry was out on his morning run. And then the gauntness, fitness and strength of Henry is often referenced back to him being a runner and how that's what's made him so. Kinda neat how the references are weaved in and out but not blatently throw out there such as running a marathon.
It made me wonder though, that since he never time travelled while running and it made him more solid with the present, why he wouldn't become an ultra runner or even just go for a run when he was feeling particularily 'trippy'. I dunno.
It did take well beyond 100 pages before the first reference came up and even then, it was probably another 50 pages before it was solidified about the running aspect. For awhile there, I was wondering why Jenn said this book would be understandable for runners. Wink

Ah! Thanks jrjo, I remember that now. I suppose I should've re-read the book.
