Mrs. PH gave her two weeks notice at her job about 1.5 months ago. They ended up giving her a "promotion" (more responsibility, but not more pay) to keep her there.

This weekend, she found out that they're bringing in someone from outside to do her job on a full-time basis AND paying this person more.

Mrs. PH wants to quit (and I'm OK with that). Should she give another 2 weeks notice or just quit?

2 week notice. As galling as it is, she is leaving on a good note and won't burn a bridge behind her.

Because she thought that with the new "promotion" there would be more pay.

I'm with Akern on this one. If they lied about giving her more money (and she would not have thought that if they didn't flat-out tell her there'd be an increase, or at least infer one was coming) then that's taking bread off your table. That's a very valid reason to walk as opposed to say, they change job definitions or vacation policies.

Personally, I would politely tell them to but in the interests of not burning bridges and future references yes, by all means give them the two weeks' notice they do not deserve.

Does she have some sick time accumulated ? This would be a good time to use it up... Wink Like maybe a couple of weeks before she gives them notice...

Use up any sick or vacation time and then give 2 weeks. It is the smart thing to do even if they were jerks to her.

Don't burn your bridges, nuke them.

Seriously, if the company sucks, why would you care if they have a bad opinion of them? No notice, and cherry bomb the toilets.
