I guess it could be called that. I call them inserts. I have a pair that help support my very high arch and takes the pressure off the ball of my feet. Not an orthotic, as it isn't custom made but better than, say, a Dr. Schol's insert.

Can we go back to hijacking your thread now?

Have you gone to a foot doctor? Do you have high or low arches? I don;t know about foot inserts.

I think I'm going to walgreens and buying some cheapo arch thing and trying that out first.

I've been to a foot doctor for other things. Every running store I go to (even the same ones on different trips) have varying opinions on whether I have a high arch or am flat footed. Confused

Alan, does your high arch collapse if you're wearing a shoe without a high arch support?
