Real quick, and no discussion please, just a yep or nope...
Are Scientology (ala Tom Cruise) and Christian Scientist the same things? All this time I thought they were and all of the sudden I think they aren't. Yes or no? (no need to get into theology)

CS - Most illnesses, etc., can be healed by the individual or with fellow CSers, usually through prayer. M.B.Eddy placed her writings (I think the main one is called Science and the Keys to Health) on a par with the Bible.
Scientology - People can become their own gods going through different levels of consciousness (like Eastern religions). No Supreme Being, no Holy Trinity. They disregarded themselves as a religion until they realized they could use the tax laws (posing as a religion) to their financial advantage - this was in the 1950s or '60s).

Scientologists I'm not so sure of, but I had a friend who was a CS growing up and he basically said that illnesses were considered "of God" and therefore medical treatment was denied.
