Why are you applying for this job?
Because i want the job and it pays more. Why do you think I'm applying for this job?

Because I can't upgrade from 5 at a time to 8 at time without a raise.

What is this "job" thing you keep talking about???
My son told me a few years ago that I needed to get one of those "job thingies" so I could get more money.

I agree that the question seems a bit obvious, but I know that when I interview someone, I take it very seriously when I ask them why the want to work here. I think that you can tell a lot by how someone answers that question. You'd be suprised at some of the dumb ass responses I've gotten.

For real:
Anything that uses "opportunity", "challenge", "great company", etc. They are looking for someone who is ambitious, and has done their due-dilligence when researching which company they want to work for. At least that's what I'd be loking for if I were in a hiring position right now.

Everyone's responses here have been MUCH more creative and humorous than what I've gotten. I'd hire the lot of you!

I used opportunity and challenge as well as the company's name in my answer. Granted, the application form is an "internal application form" as it is for a position within my own company.
