How old were you, when you started shaving?

I started shaving my legs at 12. I had blonde hair, so I could get away with it and didn't think much about it until then.
I gave my oldest permission to do so this past spring at 9.5
She's got darker hair and it was bothering her that the hair on her legs as dark. I had given her "the talk" and focused a lot on hygene. It seemed appropriate to show her how and let her start. I would have had her wait if she had the blonder hair or it wasn't as thick. However, it did make the difference in how she felt.
Does this help?

About 11. It's good that you are talking to her about it first, though. The first time I tried to shave my legs I had no clue as to what I was doing and gave myself a big-ass cut up the shin. It bled forever.

i am NOT, however, buying her this instrument of death:
it's called a venus vibrance, it runs on batteries and it vibrates. to me, it says bloodbath. this thing is so wrong in my hands, let alone a child's.
who invented this POS?
anyway, i was 12 and yeah, the shins are an issue.....

Not to hijack but: I use the Male version of that, the Mach 3 power I think it is called. It is the best razor ever. I get a nice shave and have less nicks and cuts. It rocks! [/hijack]

I don't remember, but I do remember it was a big argument in my home growing up.
I'd like to say around 11.

12 I think? I've always had really fine clear leg hair so it was (is?) kind of a non issue. I mean, I shave my legs, but its not a crisis if I miss a spot.

I was 12/13. It was a big issue all the way around. I have very dark hair so I used to get teased to death. Finaly I just took it on myself to do it...what a mess that was.
I suggest letting her do it under your supervision.

I was 10, but my hair was darker and thick on my legs. Plus I got made fun of by a cute boy and my mom caved.
She told me I'd regret it forever and to wait, but I didn't. She was right.
