I'm the type that forgets my own anniversary as well. I think I fail the hopeless romantic test. I would be uncomfortable with a big to-do event, so something simple would really impress me. Some flowers or a card with his own words would really mean a lot to me. Maybe a special dinner.

Should I do something special on this occasion? I'm positive Mrs. Hayes doesn't remember the date so it would be a complete surprise to her if I did anything. |
My husband does this to me every year...he brings home flowers on the anniversary of the first DAY we met...I can not, can not remember this day. So, yes, bring home the flowers, make her a great dinner...and then throw in a little guilt (it works....I know...8 years hasn't taught me) and you'll have an incredible night.

Oh, well. Bed and Breakfast suite with a whirl pool? You get the charm and the fun! And, of course, breakfast is great...and you'll be really hungry for breakfast...
For our anniversary last year, we stayed at one and then went canoing and hiking the next day...Juliet stayed the nigh at Grandma's. It was perfect.

Thats exactly how it is at our place .
For me I'd love a weekend away at the beach with an early morning ride in the hills and a decent training run in the evening, followed by a cosy dinner out for two, but something tells me that taking my advice would make your dog box a really permanent abode .
PH I guess if you are trying to improve things, it might be nice to have a think about things that Mrs PH likes to do, and what kinds of things impress her. Weekends away with no kids, dinners out, flowers, jewellery - all fantastic ideas, but would they work for her ?

I agree. What does SHE really like to do/where to go? Somewhere nice and romantic from back in your past (and not that head-banger concert either ) that might bring back some fond memories.....
Good luck!

I look at it this way: this is an important anniversary because without it, you wouldn't have the other one. The Go people celebrate both, equally. I think it's quite nice of you.
I don't think it has to be a lot. Kidless dinner out and a stroll would be fine, so long as you make all the arrangements. (Can't remember how old your kids are and/or if you need a sitter but if that's the case, YOU make the phonecalls and all the plans.)
It isn't about gaining points, although you probably will. It's about recognizing what someone else means to you, and trying to demonstrate that.
You kind thang.
