Has anyone read this book? Saw the author on the Today show yesterday and just curious if anyone has read it, and what you thought......

nah, i think reports will remain infrequent for at least 6 months.

My fundie GF tried to get me to read it....I see the signs at all the churches around Ft. Worth.....I even tried to make a parody thread, but it flopped....see:

I did read the book: "Stealing Jesus: How Fundamentalism Betrays Christianity".....and found it enlightening...

What's that supposed to mean?  I'm actually just a little bit slack right now at work (i'm actually working, heh). Got a Mean Girls review coming up sometime soon.
I've heard good things about this book, and I think might have had a recommendation from the BIL. That's all i know.

i read this book and did a class/study on it about 2 years ago, or whenever it first came out.
it basically goes into why we are here, and God's amazing plan for us while we are here, 5 missions, or purposes. it is a very easy read, the class was the best part cuz there was lots of small group discussion.
i liked the book, its message, and the corresponding study and fellowship it provided.

Have read it...enjoyed it, but realized that I was already trying to accomplish what the book was outlining...the book has some great thought provoking ideas, and many useful analogies and scriptures, yet, it didn't make my desire any more than I had before...
For someone, who is not really into church, it is a pretty decent introduction into the types of things you can do to re-evaluate your life, and your direction.

I've started reading this twice.
then, I let my Mom borrow it.
It's pretty good. But, like all my reading...I lose momentum big time.

I've read it and it's a pretty good book. Although many churches have found it a great read and have committed themselves to "40 days of purpose" (or whatever they want to call it) I believe it is a totally worthwhile read for someone that doesn't go to church. It's truly about "do you have a purpose in life?" "what is your purpose in life?" "How do you find your purpose in life?" etc. I believe those are things we all contemplate from time to time.
