Dubya says he's not going to get one, as part of his urging of healthy people to pass this year to ensure the supply is available for those who really need it. I know Cheney did get one because of his heart issues making him high risk. |
Some people are suggesting the bulge under Bush’s jacket at the debate was a wearable defibrillator and he also has heart problems that would make make the vaccine contraindicated. Does anyone know if he had his physical this year?
Btw, I do think the President should get the flu shot. It IS a bigger deal if he gets sick than the rest of us.

I find it hard to believe that he needs a defibrillator if he is logging all of those running miles. It's a wild theory, though.

Running isn’t going to help prevent all types of heart disease. I don’t believe an arrhythmia problem (which could be a genetic defect or secondary to past drug abuse) would be impacted by exercise.
For the record, I’m not saying this is all true, but he is wearing something in those pictures. I am curious as to what it is. Maybe this should be it's own thread - What is the bulge?

I just stumbled upon those photos and haven't had time to look into what they think the bulge was, but CB has a point.....if it's some genetic abnormality or defect, all the running in the world won't counteract it, in fact it might even make it worse. And with all the stress he's been under lately, (not that the presidency isn't stressful for anyone in the job) it is very possible that's what it is.
