No matter what side you're on, this makes for an interesting read.

Why bother, having the debates at all. Under these rules, will anything ever really be discussed

Right, I think it's important to remember that while this looks like the two candidates coming together, it's actually totally staged.

I did read that both parties had tried to demand that the cameras would only shoot them from certain angles, a request which was promptly ignored.

i dare one of them to do something that gets my attention. something i'd actually endorse. something that impresses me.

They talked about that on GMA this morning, showing examples of camera angles in the past that didn't catch the most ideal moments for various candidates: Gore rolling his eyes and sighing in 2000, George H. W. Bush looking at his watch while Clinton spoke, etc.

I just don't like the power each of the two major parties have.

Yeah, maybe they should try paying attention for the two hours the cameras are on. That's the sort of thing i WANT to see.

I could see in the middle of the debates one of them stopping, and asking is this in the rules.

Why bother having an audience either.

I disagree. How do you think Clinton got elected? It wasn't the men in this country, it was the soccer moms of America that put him over the top.

That's what I think. Dude, you're trying to win over America, think about the fact that you are being watched.

I think sock puppets would be just as effective.

Edited to say, I mean as audience. Although perhaps on stage too.
