I call dibs for either Cheeks' or OL's couch.
I'll poo on the lawn of the person that doesn't pick me. |
I pick you! I pick you! I've got a sofabed with your name on it...and Cheeky's got a lawn for you.... |
Don't forget, everyone, that OL does not want to leave anyone out. Runner X might have dibs on the couch, but EVERY RIFF RAFFER is guaranteed a spot to stay at the Lambda's.

Excellent! Cheeky will probably get mad and she might decide to do something childish (like steal a Microsoft poster) to make me look bad. Just be ready. |
I'm ready. I've just activated my remote museum-style alarm system. All is safe.

I like the Tybee idea. Not a bad drive from ATL. |

If anyone is interested in beautiful sunny FLORIDA, there's the gulf beaches marathon. Their web site doesn't seem to be up right now. I've gotten to it through marathonguide.com though. It's in February, is mainly flat, small, not a whole lot of spectators, but i've read good reviews on it.
It will be my debut, unless that Tybee thing happens.... that sounds like a good one too!

Do the Hops Tampa Bay marathon instead of Gulf Beaches. MUCH better scenery and race management! And yes, my name is on the volunteer list.
I did the Hops this past January (LOVED IT!) and I live near the Gulf Beaches route. PM, email or call me and we'll chat about it.
Oh, and I'm planning on Tybee in Feb., 2k4.

If it's in San Dog, I'm going to try my hardest to get there. We lived there for 4 year before moving, well, here and it's gorgeous down there! Perfect.

An escape from the snow and the -17 degree temperatures to run along the beach in sunny California with some of your virtual running friends.
A fast, flat course perfect for setting a PR. No more than 160 feet of elevation gain over the entire course, and a lot of it is along the ocean front.

FlaRunner: I did the Gasparilla Distance Classic this past January. You're right about the terrific scenery! The weather was perfect, and it was very organized. I'm sure the Hops was the same way. I may go back this Jan. for a repeat. Janice

If anyone knows of a late December marathon, I'd almost definitely drive long distances for it.

Dallas White Rock is like mid-December I think....I forget if that's in this thread or the fall event one....but there's a web link there. I know most of the TX crowd is doing that one, you should come too!!!
