Possible Peronial Brevis problem

I think I have narrowed this pain down to the peronal previs attachement. It happened out of the blue one afternoon. It seems like it I touch it just right it "pops" or if I step on it just right and it just kills me. I have read that this is common in runners. Is there any relief? Please advise. I am going nuts w/o being able to run.
