sleeping positions that is. Mind out of the gutter people.
Even when your are away to you sleep in the same position (side wise).
Robin and I always sleep in the position, me closest to the door and phone.

we switch sides here at home. If I'm still watching tv and he's wanting to sleep, his side is closest to the door. Otherwise, more often than not, I am on the side by the door. It's all about the alarm. He used to sleep closest to the door so he'd have to get up and turn the alarm off, less likely to hit snooze that way. Now, he doesn't care, and consequently sleeps closest to the alarm and is a snooze-bar abuser. 
We both toss and turn too, so we're spooning one way or the other, several times per night. Maybe this is why we're not so committed to our sides of the bed? That and the alarm clock, LOL.

I'm on the left  closest to the door because I sleep on my left side. He's on the right, closest to the phone. He crawls to my side when I'm not there, I always stay on the left even when alone.

Well, it's like this.
I always have the wall on my side. We've never had a place with a big enough bedroom for the bed to sit in the middle, it's always in a corner, so depending on the room...but I always get the wall side.
Currently I'm on the left side.

Start out on the left, then the cat gets in bed then a kid or two. Someone gets up everyone shifts, then everyone moves to the right...
We need a king size bed

 This begs the question - do you have the bruised knees from getting to the bathroom, or do you use the toilet in a strange new way?
