I am SO PISSED at Verizon I am ready to vomit. I was on the phone with Kristin this weekend and low and behold, my cellphone decided it wanted a bath and dove off my shoulder into a sinkful of water.  Well, the azzholes I bought the phone from did NOT put insurance on my account despite my requesting it after being forced to pay full retail price for the last phone I wrecked (close to $200  ) so now I am doing the Bendover and Grab Yo Ankles dance  AND the customer service people were the RUDEST Mo'Fo's I have ever dealt with....funny, when I worked in customer service, we were forced to kiss the customer's 
I would SO love to dump these assclowns and go with another service but I have not heard good things about many of the others. Anyone else out there NOT have Verizon and are happy with your carrier? Please share....

sorry, i have cingular and not very great things to say about them. service is great when im near a tower. anywhere else and good luck.
but, i dont pay for it so i guess i really cant complain...
good luck finding decent service....

will be switching to Nextel shortly
have Cingular and like it too. Robin just got a nextel issued to her from her work and just about everyone here has one so I will be switching.

We have T Mobile and have never had 1 problem
Where I used to work we used Nextel and the Nationwide walkie talkie service was great especially when my buddy went to the Daytona 500 and kept me at the race with him-----boy those cars are a bit loud....

AT & T Wireless here. Can't say much one way or the other for the service, as no-one calls me (we got it bascially for emergencies).

There's a shock you getting a new cell phone. The other one's were, what 3 month's old this time

Which is weird cause I can't say enough good things about them (Cingular) I was in Nashville last week and the reception was excellent and I've been to Calgary, and Key West and the same thing.
It does help having a world phone (quad band) so I get excellent reception no matter where I go.

Big Cingular fan here.
Two things to consider:
1. Cingular has acquired AT&T Wireless. When the two networks merge (expected to happen later this year), it will become the largest cell network in the country. I'm sure most service areas will increase dramatically due to the increased coverage on the combined network.
2. Cingular is supposed to introduce phones later this summer with walkie-talkie features (ala Nextel). Something to consider if you are moving to Nextel for that feature alone.

I'm sorry you had an aggravating experience.
I have Verizon, too, and while I've had trouble of various sorts in the past, I'd never go with anyone else after all the stories I've heard from our friends about other services.
All I know is I never have to worry about service... I dial my phone and I get through every time. I like that, so it's worth rotten customer service once in a while, etc. I need to know that if I'm ever in trouble, with 2 youngsters along with me, I can get through on my phone.
